This blog contains a series of fictional posts written by the characters in Monster by Walter Dean Myers. These posts are not a part of the novel itself, they were created by myself for a school project.
Steve Harmon
A sixteen year old young African American, Steve Harmon has been arrested for being the look-out in the robbery. He is afraid and questions his own integrity after the crime is done. The novel is narrated through his point of view in a screen play format. He resolves to record his experience in jail in this medium in order to distance himself from the reality of the situation in thinking that it's only a movie. Of course, the reality is too striking and he cannot run from it. He battles great inner turmoil while the readers see the psychological effects of prison on this young man.
